Appearance
Minsung is a handsome young man with black eyes and wavy black hair. Despite his great wealth and fame, he tends to dress in very casual clothing, as displayed by how he wore a simple red dress shirt and gray pants during his show for the press.
In the revised timeline, while Minsung has mostly retained his youthful looks, he is shown to dress more formerly in a gray suit and tie over a black undershirt. His eyes are also shown to glow bright red whenever he's agitated.
Personality
In the public eye, Minsung presents himself as kind, humble and selfless. However, behind the scenes, he is an arrogant, obnoxious, and self-centered man who relishes the spotlight and tends to behave like a spoiled brat. As the son of a wealthy business tycoon, he also exhibits a strong sense of entitlement and has no problem using his father's name to try to get what he wants.
Like many narcissists, Minsung has a fragile ego, which makes him easily intimidated by people who wield more influence than himself and prone to losing his composure when the attention shifts away from him.[1] He is also cunning, as he deliberately joined the Field Guild in an attempt to divert the public's attention from the fact that he dodged the Korean military draft. However, due to having no field experience as a hunter, he quickly panicked when he was ordered to engage in the 4th Jeju Island Raid, exposing his true cowardly nature to his guild mates.
In the revised timeline, Minsung is shown to be even more depraved than he was in the original timeline, having engaged in numerous crimes such as kidnapping, murder, torture, and drug dealing in order to earn large profits and elevate his social status.[2] He also suffers from an inferiority complex, which partially stems from the fact that his former chauffeur Lim Tae-Gyu is now his boss, and has no problem working with the Itarim in order to regain the social standing he had before hunters reappeared, essentially betraying the human race purely for money and power.
History
At some point in the past, Minsung rose to prominence as an actor and gained a loyal fanbase in Korea as a result, with many considering him to be one of the best movie stars in Asia at the time. However, at the same time, he gained a negative reputation in the Korean entertainment industry for his massive ego and his tendency to incessantly flirt with well-known Korean models such as Yoo Soohyun.[3][4]
Return to Demon Castle Arc
After being secretly evaluated as an A-Rank Hunter, Minsung decided to "retire" from his acting career for two years to join the Fiend Guild. This move was strategically planned to divert public attention from the rumors that he had dodged the Korean military draft. To make the most out of his "retirement", Minsung negotiated a deal where he would be paid millions just to promote the guild. To mark his official acceptance into the guild, Minsung planned a large publicity event for the press. However, the event coincided with the announcement of Sung Jinwoo as Korea's 10th S-Rank Hunter, which captured all the media attention that was previously on him and completely ruined his carefully laid plans.[5]
Jeju Island Arc
During the 4th Jeju Island Raid, Minsung was stationed off the coast of the island with the rest of the Fiend Guild and tasked with eliminating any ants that approached. Having never participated in a real raid before, Minsung was completely caught off guard when the ants began to swarm following the Ant King's defeat and panicked immediately upon seeing the creatures flying towards him, prompting one of his guild members to call him a wuss.[6]
Abilities
As an A-Rank Hunter, Minsung is supposedly quite strong for a hunter, as displayed when he easily smashed a table to pieces with one hand. His senses are also sharp enough to where he was able to detect Suho's presence in the vicinity. However, he has no actual raiding experience and is easily frightened on the job, making him virtually useless out in the field.
